This London-based company sells new scaffolding, safety and building equipment to construction firms, trades, the general public and event companies. They supply their products across London and most areas in the UK.
This scaffold retailer required a brand new eCommerce website design built from scratch to sell their extensive range of products. They wanted a website where their customers did not pay for the goods at the checkout but added the required items to the cart to request a quotation for delivery. Due to the size and weight of the products they sold, they could not offer a standard fixed-rate charge for transportation, so each delivery charge had to be worked out on an individual order basis, hence the reason they wanted customers to request a quotation. They asked that we add all their products to the site along with the content and imagery they supplied. They also required online marketing and SEO services to obtain organic rankings once the website build was finished.
We first purchased the clients’ domain name on their behalf and then created a hosting account for the site and emails. Once this was set up, our developers installed an SSL certificate and all of the relevant software, which in this instance was WordPress, WooCommerce and Elementor. We also installed the following plugins:
We then set up the store, changed a few settings, and made the checkout process smooth and straightforward.
Design-wise our client wanted the site to look very minimal and tidy. The homepage featured text about their company and services, other helpful information and details on how to order from the site. We also added image links near the top of the homepage to their main categories, which were added in order of popularity.
The category pages were again very simplistic, with text about that particular item and images and links to all of the products available within that category. In total, we have created 9 category pages so far.
We were then required to add 31 products, with more going forwards. The product pages featured:
Finally, we added a contact us page featuring all of the company’s contact information and an online submission form.
The header and footer of the store also showcased their social media links, contact details and opening hours.
