Company Overview

Martin Smith is a local musician who plays the Besson Prestige 2052 Euphonium. He is the principal euphonium with one of the leading bands in the southeast. He performs in many recitals and concerts with orchestras.

What our client needed

Martin Smith has recently recorded an album called The Lyrical Euphonium and wanted to make it available online so that people could listen to previews of the tracks and also purchase the music via download or CD. The website also provided details about himself, upcoming events and a gallery of previous musical gatherings. Our client required 6 web pages and a small eCommerce store to sell his products.

What we did

First, we provided our client with WordPress-dedicated cloud hosting.
We then installed the WordPress and WooCommerce software and configured the settings for a primary store.
Our designers used beaver builder as the building software so that our client could manage pages and posts himself once created.
Our client had all the content and imagery ready for every website page and provided clear instructions.
We added a homepage, biography, events, repertoire, gallery, videos and contact us.
For the store to work and take payments, we installed the Stripe checkout plugin for customers to make payments by card using this popular processor.
We also installed a compact audio player plugin, where visitors could listen to a preview of a single track.
We added a total of 18 products which included a downloadable album, a physical CD and then individual tracks to download.
We integrated an event calendar plugin allowing our client to add musical events with time, date, description and location. When posted, this would also feature on the homepage as the latest events section.
Our designers embedded YouTube videos on the homepage and the videos page.
We also installed the NextGen gallery plugin to upload images to the gallery page.
Once the site was completed, we tested every aspect, from listening to tracks and placing orders to ensuring everything worked as it should.
After the testing process, we installed Rank math SEO and Google site kit.
Our client requested some changes and tweaks but was very happy with the overall look and feel of the site and was keen to showcase it to his fellow musicians and followers. We provided our client with guides on how to use the site.
